Practice
Practices are important! This is where your swimmers will learn swim strokes and dives, build endurance and comfort in the water, and make friends with their teammates and coaches. We would love to see your child every day at practice, but we understand life gets in the way sometimes. We do not need to be notified if you are going to miss practices.
Cancelling Practice
Please note, we will always have practice unless you receive an email or GroupMe. To ensure our swimmers' safety, we are always monitoring the weather and use various apps to get the best information.
We will notify you as soon as the decision has been made, sometimes this may be 30 min before practice because we want to do our best to get our practices in. Please refrain from texting coaches asking about weather and practice, you will be notified.
Additionally, we may have to cancel practice due to weather after practice begins, so please monitor your email if you are dropping your child at the pool.

Practice Scheduling
We know that RipTide practices are early in the morning. Summers at the Boerne City Pool are very busy and we have 14 different groups to get through the pool before 1:00p when the pool opens to the public.
We have separated practices based on age and we are unable to accommodate having a sibling swim in a different age group for practices.
Ready for Practice
So everyone gets the most out of their time in the water, please be on time and ready to swim when your practice time starts.
There are bathrooms and changing areas at the pool, if needed.
You can wear any suit to practice, it does not need to be the team suit.
Boys typically wear jammers and girls need a one-piece suit competition style suit.
Safety
Swimmers are expected to follow all safety rules and instructions. If they are unable to do this, they will be asked to leave the pool area.
For everyone's safety, we cannot allow disruptive behavior near the pool.
Please keep all children off of the poolside equipment as well as out of the shallow pool area. Children of any age are not allowed in the shallow pool area at any time, unless supervised by a coach.
Parents of new swimmers are encouraged to remain near the pool for practices, at least at the beginning of the season, so we can be sure they will be able to be successful in practice.
